General Council Meets in Montreal

The General Council met in Montreal, Canada April 5-10, 2010, accompanied by the General Treasurer and the Provincials of the three Provinces of France, Canada, and the U.S. The April meeting of the Council meeting often moves around to different locations.

Highlights of the meeting included a visit to the new Sulpician candidates participating in the six-month Solitude in Oka (see separate article), a meeting with the Provincial Council of Canada, a meeting with the formation team of Le Grand Seminaire, visits to the Sulpician retirement communities at Le Grand Seminaire and Le Vieux Seminaire, and a visit with the Gray Sisters.

The Superior General will communicate by letter with the members various items of information concerning the decisions taken at this meeting.

The next meeting of the council will take place in Paris from July 19-24, 2010.
